Mean Red Spiders rock (in a bluesy kind of way)! This is less of a review and more of an observation, but oh yeh, and how!
We stumbled across them on the way home after dinner and a bottle of wine (or 2). Drawn literally across the street by the soaring harmonica, and what a good decision it was to take a peek!
To review them would mean talking about the poor sound levels and the small gathering that was the audience and the Stevie Ray Vaughan / Slash wanabee on guitar and vocals, however this gig went beyond all that. Held together by a god on harmonica who resembled one of the unwashed crossed by a Glastonbury regular - and maybe he was but nobody cared. He played effortlessly, perfectly and recklessly and pulled the Mean Red Spiders through their blues standards, backed by a cracking percussionist on drums.
We only caught the end of their set but full-heartedly recommend them:

Cracking instrumentalists and soaring blues rock makes these guys a must see. Whilst they may not make the history books for blues rock bands, Mean Red Spiders put it away like a rocking blues thing that makes you want to dance and clap and woop and smile, even when you try not to. Top notch blues.
