The Bluebird Blues – featuring Diana Braithwaite and Chris Whiteley with Bob Hall Awarded 3 Maple Blues Awards in 2010, including Songwriters Of The Year, vocalist Diana Lee Braithwaite, whose African-American family hail from Florida, and Kansas-born multi-instrumentalist Chris Whiteley keep the tradition of acoustic blues alive through their concerts of fine original songs. The Bluebird Blues recounts the story of Bluebird Records, the pre-eminent record label of the thirties and forties. A world-class blues singer, Diana Braithwaite has been dubbed “Canada’s National Treasure”. Chris Whiteley has played with blues legends Taj Mahal, John Hammond and John Lee Hooker. Together they are joined by Bob Hall, poll-winning British blues and boogie pianist, for a unique and varied night with great vocals, guitar, piano, mandolin, harmonica, trumpet and percussion.
